Check out one line of text about Magaret Clark on the Penguin Homepage.

Likewise check out two lines of info about producer John Gauci . How did they manage to spell Pugwall wrong???

If you liked Pugwall then there is a chance you would have liked some other great childrens comedy (like Round The Twist!). Check out the Australian Childrens Television Foundation.

Finally if you are from the UK you should check out the Channel 4 site. Keep an eye on the listings page and mail them to let them know you want more Pugwall!!!!!

Midnight Oil

This is best band in the world! They are truly amazing! If there were one band that you should check out it should be THIS ONE! The lead singer, Peter Garrett, is outspoken on matters of environment and politics. The band itself is dedicated to expanding the image of Australia and dealing with the issues that confront us as we move in to the next century. This band has great music and also writes about things that really matter. I think in nearly 20 years they have only written one or two love songs. Compare that to most bands, who resort to the "L word" in almost every lyric. Live they really kick! The two guitarist, Moginie and Rotsey, have a way of playing that blows you away! And Rob Hirst's drumming... I would reccomend that any music lover should have a copy of "Blue Sky Mining", "Earth and Sun and Moon" or "Redneck Wonderland" - the bands best albums in my opinion.

Here are some links that you should check out.

The Dead Heart - a brilliant fan site!

Paul Kelly

Here is an artist that I have only recently got in to so I can't tell you much, other than he is one of the best songwriters I have heard. Paul provides much of the music for Home and Away and Neighbours so if you listen more closely next time. I would recommend "Comedy" but I think most people love "Gossip".

Split Enz

Cool band . Cool songs. Could have been bigger than the Beatles except they came from New Zealand/Australia. If you like weird and wonderful epic music with a seventies sound check out "Second Thoughts" or "Dizrythmia". If you into 80's pastel pop then "True Colours" is for you. The band broke up in 1985 but reformed in 1993 for a tour and an album "Anniversary". Check 'em out.

Check out this cool page.

Crowded House

Brilliant band fronted by, ex-Split Enz man, Neil Finn. Unfortunately they broke up but as Neil is a timeless writer it makes little difference. If you have only heard Weather With You then you are in for a pleasent suprise. Hey and I actually got to say "hi" to Nick Seymour and shake his hand after a gig with his new band "Deadstar". They were excellent but the record is not too good...stick with the Crowdies for quality!

Another cool page

Hoodoo Gurus

This band is just so cool that I can only think of one way of describing it. They are like a cross between 60's hippy pop stars, ZZ Top, You Am I, surf dudes and punk (well almost). Check out this link to get all the latest info (they split apparently!) plus some cool t-shirts! Rock on dudes and mind the spider!!

The Tragaically Hip

Here is another good band that I'm just getting into! They are Canadian and pleople compare them to the Oils (though I am not quite sure why)! Well worth your time to check this!

Died Pretty

I spend a lot of time playing bass along to Died Pretty songs. Some times they just rule. Will they depose the Oils? Nah! But they are still very cool! Check 'em out!

Bush Tucker Man

Major Les Hiddins is just a cool guy who goes around the bush eating plants and swimming through croc infested waters. A true Australian hero. Find out how you can get a hat like his and what waters not to swim in!
