Is Apocalypse the Final
Chapter?
A lot of you people may be
wondering what lies ahead for Newspeak. The release of Apocalypse
found us on a musical high with us writing some of our best
material ever. The bonus disc that came with Apocalypse gave a
tantalising glimpse of what was to come. Nick's hauntin
g,
other wordly epic "Sattelite" was by far the best song
we never recorded, if not our best song ever. The band was
starting to work as a unit for the first time, each member
throwing in ideas. However the main limit we had was time and
towards the end other commitments were certainly causing
problems. When the news came about Rob getting a job in Scotland
there was certainly a sense of releif. Now with Rob A. in
Scotland, Nick in London, Dan barred from joining another rock
band and Julian and Rob B. working on Crome Yellow material it is
hard to see where the future lays for Newspeak. However a reunion
could always be on the cards if the circumstances were right.
Indeed we agreed that if one of us made it musically(i.e made
huge monetry profits from music) that person would come back and
resurect Newspeak. We will have to see if this comes back to
haunt any of us - I doubt that it ever will! Despite it all
ending without any great success I'm sure we were all glad we
were part of Newspeak. There was definately a feeling that
Newspeak was something special, and we had all hoped that the
band would go on to become something that we could be proud of.
Well I think we can all feel proud of what we have achieved:
playing good songs, having some good times and making some good
friends.
Newspeak is dead! God save Newspeak!
